Ministry of Health is following up at least 960 people suspected to have got into contact with the13 cases of COVID-19 reported to have picked within the communities and tested positive.

The 13 people were among the 80 plus returnees from Dubai reported to have passed through Entebbe Airport and joined the communities when United Arab Emirates (UAE) hadn’t yet been listed among category one or high risk countries with Coronavirus cases.

The Ministry Of Health Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng says that these are in several districts of Kalangala, Hoima, Adjumani and Wakiso among others to ensure that they are quarantined.

Aceng further says the task force has started screening and taking samples from cargo importers entering Uganda from the neighboring countries to avoid risks of registering more imported cases of Coronavirus.

She mentions out people crossing into the country in porous borders saying these gaps are monitored and covered.
