The State Minister for Labour, Employment and Industrial Relations, Retired Col (Charles Okello Engola has been killed by his body guard at his home this morning.
The incident happened around 9.30am at the minister’s residence situated at Kyanja in Nakawa Division Kampala.
It is said the same body guard shot dead the first body guard to the minister and seriously injured a house maid and is currently in critical condition and is admitted at Jubilee Hospital located in Kyanja.
Eye witnesses say the body guard came out of the minister’s premises shooting in the air with anger allegedly over low pay and entered Shamo Unisex salon where he also shot himself.
Security comprising of the police and army have condoned off that area to take forensic evidence.
Minister Charles Okello Engola last took his official duty while at Namutumba during the National Labour day celebrations yesterday as part of the Masters of Ceremony.
