The state minister for lands, Persis Namuganza, vows to protect the environment by investigating how individuals acquire land titles in wetlands not only in her constituency once voted back but also in the whole country.

 

Namuganza the Member of Parliament for Bukono county in Bukono County has picked Nomination forms from the NRM headquarters at Kyadondo road to run again for the same seat.

 

Namuganza told the journalists that she has received a lot of complaints about individuals who connive with officials in the ministry of lands and districts to obtain fake land tittles in the wetlands and other reserves which is against the law and above all detrimental to the environment.

 

Meanwhile aspiring candidates for the woman Member of parliament Buyende district Sarah Namulondo  has reminded the country of the existence of Covid-19 that has so far claimed a health worker, 34 years of age from Namisindwa District, every person should observe the SOPs.

 

Other members who have picked forms include James Magala Bruce kyadondo East constituency, Jakana Naduli Nakaseke North, Robert Bahiga Igara west, Abudul Kasagama Hoima municipality Hon. John Muyingo for Bbamunanika constituency , Hon. Evelyn  Anite for Koboko woman mp,Hon. Elioda Tumwesigye for Sheema municipality among others.

Meanwhile the NRM-O Party Electoral Commission chairperson Dr.Tanga Odoi has called upon NRM members to interest themselves in what their party is doing and establish facts than talking from uninformed point of view.

He said this after his office clocked 700 people who have picked forms of expression to compete for various political positions adding that this time round politics is not business as usual due to a number of factors including the existence of Covid-19 pandemic that people must be safeguarded from.

The nomination exercise is expected to end on 31st July.
