The Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago and Kampala Capital City  Authority Executive Director Dorothy Kisaka have clashed before the Speaker of Parliament Anita Among over the resolutions made to clear the salary arrears of KCCA casual workers.

This was after Lukwago informed the Speaker Among that he wasn’t privy and shocked to learn for the first time about the document on the resolutions made by the ED Kisaka in resolving the matters of the causal workers in today’s meeting.

This was as the Speaker Among met with the leadership of KCCA; the political wing led by Lukwago and the technical led by ED Kisaka together with the MPs of Kampala headed by Muhammad Nsereko to agree on payment terms of salary arrears and renewal of contracts of the KCCA casual workers.

Meanwhile the meeting has resolved to affect all salary arrears of all KCCA casual workers for the past six months starting tomorrow as verification exercise at division levels starts on 11th March 2024.

Speaker Among has also requested the leadership of KCCA to resolve the wrangles in Seven Hills Company and its employees for easy and effective operations in Kampala City.

This is after a section of the labourers stormed Parliament in protest of their unpaid six months arrears by the authority.
