The Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago calls for the withdrawal of the Special Forces Command (SFC) personnel into fixing potholes in the city.

Early this year, President Museveni directed the Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja to work with the SFC and see that all the potholes in the city are fixed.

Now speaking to the press at City Hall, Lukwago said that the SFC personnel lack capacity to fix the city roads, lack equipment, they lack expertise among other requirements and they should be taken back to the barracks.

He threatened fire at KCCA once the technical wing led by the Deputy Executive Director Eng. David Luyimbaazi fail to account for the 250bn shs that was recovered from the funds that were allocated to construct roads by the African Development Bank and the technical wing chose to inflate the prices of constructing a kilometer of the city roads to a tune of 15bn per kilometer.

Lukwago also lashed out at the Kawempe Division Mayor Emmanuel Sserunjogi for conniving with the Luyimbaazi together with the Chairperson of the City Roads Committee, Eng. Ronald      Nsubuga Balimwezo to re-allocate these funds yet it’s not their role but the work of the City Executive Committee.

He threatened to withdraw from the City Roads Committee if they go on with such exclusive meetings which he says that they have temporarily done.
