The leader of Opposition in parliament Betty Aol Ochan has called for a total lifting of the political activities.

President Museveni’s state of Nations address speech yesterday maintained a ban on all political activities like rallies and crusades which the opposition think is intended to suffocate the opposition yet in a democratic field government would have strengthen measures of preventing the covid-19 virus and sensitised the public on the preventive measures than curtailing their operations at this political movement.

Meanwhile the chairperson of the parliamentary Health Committee Dr. Michael Bukenya has appealed to government to suspend its policy of Ugandans paying 240,000shs for covid-19 test.

This is after Bukenya received over 30 people from his constituency asking for money to go for a Covid-19 test as a requirement to return to their jobs.

Bukenya says Government should continue owning the mandate of free Covid-19 test because the burden has been shifted to MPs who also don’t have enough funds to cater for such a need.

Bukenya now says he is to petition the office of the speaker of parliament to task government not to charge Ugandans apart from those who wish to go to private hospitals.
