The Leader of Opposition in Parliament, Winnie Kiiza has said she is ready to be sacked by the in-coming new leadership of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC).

Kiiza, the Kasese Woman Member of Parliament backed the outgoing Forum for Democratic Change President Mugisha Muntu who was defeated by former Kumi County Member of Parliament Patrick Amuriat Oboi in the just concluded party elections held at Mandela National Stadium Namboole.

Kiiza says she is not the first and won’t be the last leader of opposition in parliament. She is among opposition Members of Parliament who joined Mugisha Muntu at Hotel Africana today as he announced a new round of consultations that will lead to the formation of the party elders forum to guide the party.

The former President of the FDC Lt. Gen. Mugisha Muntu called for calm and commitment to the party by all party supporters if they are to take power come 2021.

Muntu emphasized reconciliation over what happened before and during party campaigns and elections clarifying that he is still a full party member, ready to move along with the new party leadership and all party members despite unfounded rumours that he is leaving the party. This statement has pleased party members including the former president Dr. Kizza Besigye who said deepening mobilization will help them remove president Museveni from power.
