Local guard jailed over drug theft

Police in Nakasongola are holding a 55 year-old local guard in connection to the alleged theft of government drugs from Lwabyata Health Center IV.

The suspect identified as Ronald Kazobwe Tibayungana, a resident of Nalulonge, Lwabyata Sub Country in Nakasongola district, before arrest, was a local guard guarding the health center.

According to the police, the incident happened last night at an unknown time when unknown suspects broke into the store of Lwabyata Health Center IV and stole some drugs.

Sam Twiineamazima, the Police Spokesperson for Savannah Region says the suspect wasn’t on duty by the time of breaking in but the efforts to recover the stolen drugs and arrest all the culprits involved in this theft are underway.
