The Land Commission of Inquiry has ordered the Operation Wealth Creation Mubende District Coordinator Maj. Eric Kigambwoha to vacate the home of one Charles Byangaramani with immediate effect from today.

The said home is among the five houses located at Kituule village in Mubende district on the 50 acreage of land alleged to have forcefully acquired and occupied by Maj. Kigambwoha in 2004.

Appearing before the commissioners led by Justice Catherine Bamugemereire in Wandegeya, Maj. Kigambwoha denied accusations that he acquired the land forcefully but bought it from the owner Henry Kaaya whom they mistakenly thought was his father.

However, Justice Bamugemereire disclosed to him the whole evidences that shows his illegal acquisition of the land including, forcing residents to sign fake agreement without paying them, use of soldiers from Mubende army barracks to rape women, repatriating occupants to Rwanda and violently evacuating people from their houses.

Bamugemereire directed the commission’s investigators to collaborate with Mubende army barracks to establish every property Maj. Kigambwoha acquaired illegally.

Meanwhile, some of the victims including Byangaramani’s wife Stephania Nyinawabweega who lost her land and homes to Maj. Kigambwoha expressed happiness over the commission’s directive to save peoples land who are vulnerable and helpless.
