The opposition National Unity Platform (NUP) party president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine has expressed concern about what he calls broken promises by President Yoweri Museveni to the people of Luweero.

According to Kyagulanyi, it is sad to see that after 37 years since the 1981-86 NRM Bush war ended, the people of Luweero are still suffering from unhealed trauma and broken promises.

In a message before his arrival to the people of Luweero through a tweet, Kyagulanyi has said that: “Today (Friday), we are taking them a message of hope.”

He also says that he is concerned that the NRA rebels turned Luweero into a pot of misery after they murdered and plundered their way into power.

Although Museveni’s government has registered some achievements, in the last 37 years, a lot is still missing which NUP wants to fix, Kyagulanyi asserted.

Before press time, Kyagulanyi had just arrived in Luweero town and had opened their party office so that he proceeded to Kasana grounds where NUP organized an address to the party supporters as he winds up this week’s party nationwide tour.

Police patrol is visible along the Kampala-Gulu highway, to ensure peace and security.
