The former Presidential candidate of the National Unity Platform (NUP) also Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi has asked parliament to direct security agencies to release political prisoners from the government prisons.

He made the plea while raising a matter of national importance on the floor of parliament chaired by Speaker Rebecca Kadaga.

Kyagulanyi said that the whereabouts of over 200 NUP supporters are not known and are not even included on the lists of the political detainees and those released by government a week ago.

He further demanded government to stop trying civilians in Military courts and even return those abducted either dead or alive.

However, responding to Kyagulanyi’s plea, Kadaga told him to forward his complaints to the Parliamentary Human Rights Committee which is currently investigating the election violence.
