Kibuli Muslim sect denies reconciling with Old Kampala faction

Kibuli Muslim faction has denied the purported reconciliation between them and the old Kampala Muslim factions.

On Tuesday, a number of Sheikhs lead by the Mufti of the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council – UMSC Sheik Shaban Ramadhan Mubajje held a meeting at Statehouse Entebbe where President Yoweri Museveni later came out and claimed to have reconciled the two factions, the Kibuli based group and that of Old Kampala with a sealed agreement.

However, this Wednesday, while speaking to Kibuli Muslim publicity Prof Muhammad Kiggundu, he denied all the claimed reconciliations saying that as Kibuli, they are not aware of any such meeting.

He said it’s disappointing for a certain group of Muslims to mislead the country especially in the Month of Ramathan adding that those who went to State house were self seekers, liars and opportunists who misinformed the president.

Prof. Kiggundu also added that it’s also an opportunity to show Ugandans the truth of those working for the good and not of the Muslim fraternity.
