Police have established emergency shelters in districts that border Kenya, especially those expected to be used in hosting Kenyan refugees once the political situation worsens in their country.

The Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga says they are working with the Office of the Prime Minister and local governments to establish these shelters.

This came before the Supreme Court in Kenya gave the final verdict in favor of William Ruto in the presidential election petition filed by former Prime Minister Rails Odinga and others which has developed tension in the neighbouring country.

Enanga has also revealed that the security situation along all Kenyan borders was enhanced and placed on alert due to anticipation of violence.

Meanwhile, Enanga has noted that the district security committee in Kisoro district was able to relocate the refugees from the Democratic Republic of Congo who had camped in open spaces in the district for settlement camps.
