The National Unity Platform (NUP) caucus councillors sitting at city hall have threatened to pass a vote of no confidence on the Executive Director of the authority Dorothy Kisaka together with her deputy Eng. David Luyimbaazi and also ask the public service commission to embark on the process of her removal from office pursuant to section 18 of the KCCA Act.

This is after the deputy executive director Eng. David Luyimbaazi’s failed to present a detailed report to council concerning the status of  USD 288m  meant for carrying out works on a number of roads in the capital that are in deplorable state saying that they haven’t received permission from the solicitor general since agreement contain issues of privacy.

Kampala capital city Authority received USD 288m from the African Development Bank to construct 31 roads totaling to 61kms under the Kampala city roads rehabilitation project and the construct works are expected to kick off this month however councillors want the technical wing to show the amount of funds they are to spend this month.

Speaking to the press in Kampala the chairperson of the caucus Moses Kataabu noted that under the process of demanding for accountability a number of NUP councillors have been intimidated some receiving distress phone calls while others have been beaten pointing out councillor Faridah Nakabugo .

He says they have already petitioned the office of the minister for Kampala over the matter and expect the council sitting scheduled for 15th February the executive director to present a report failure to do so they will use their mandate under the law to stop the work.
