The Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga has advised the government to always inform the public in time when a very important person falls sick or dies.

Mayiga noted that once the government fails to inform the public in time, the people will always speculate and others become suspicious on the cause of death which creates room for allegations that result into embarrassing the government and the deceased.

His comments come at a time when many are holding on the unfounded allegations that the late speaker Jacob L’okori Oulanyah was poisoned and his father Nathan Okori reechoed the same during his burial last Friday at Lalogi in Omoro district.

Mayiga also appealed to the government to invest in crime investigation and prevention while those found in line of criminality be tried and given punitive punishments if the Country is to secure its people from insecurity and reckless killing by either machete wielding thugs who have started invading various home and cattle wrestlers in Karamoja.

This was when the Katikkiro was addressing the press at Bulange – Mengo about the Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi’s birthday run that was postponed to next after failing to happen on Sunday April 10th due to unavailability of the running kits and Kabaka being out of the country on official visit.

The Kabaka’s Birthday run will be held under the theme “Fighting HIV/AIDS with men in the lead” once His Majegesty returns from Europe.
