The Inspector General of Police Gen. Kale Kayihura has dropped AIGP Asan Kasingye as the institution’s Spokesperson and replaced him with SSP Emilliano Kayima.

Kasingye, a long serving Director of Interpol and International relations in Uganda Police was doubling as the Chief Political Commissar.

A statement to all police units indicates that Kasingye will now concentrate on the Commissariat office.

Kayima, hitherto the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, now takes on the docket of Uganda Police Spokesperson.

The statement indicated the change was made “to enable the chief political commissar concentrate on improving the ideological quality of police officers.”

Asan Kasingye was named substantive police spokesperson in March, replacing AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi who had just been gunned down.
