The Ministry of Kampala is in the final stages of developing the greater Kampala development plan with the help of development partners.

 

According to the Minister of State for Kampala Christopher Kabuye Kyofatogabye, the plan is being supported by the Japanese government under the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

 

According to the minister the plan will focus on among other areas; the Urban Special infrastructure, Transport and Land use, Environment Conservation, Wetland, Drainage and water supply among others.

 

About the coordination of the greater Kampala Metropolitan Area Urban Development Program, Kyofatogabye says the Ministry with support from the World Bank developed a greater Kampala Metropolitan Area Urban Development Program which focuses on improvement of mobility and accessibility, environment conservation and resilience, job and wealth creation, institution strengthening for capacity enhancement of entities in the GKMPA.

 

He was giving a presentation on the achievements of his Ministry at the ongoing manifesto week cabinet presentation at the OPM offices in Kampala this afternoon.
