Kamasanyu was attacked by thugs – Police

Police have revealed that they are pursuing several leads into efforts of arresting the criminal gang suspected to have been behind the attack on Buganda Road Standards Court Chief Magistrate Gladys Kamasanyu.

Kamasantu was on Saturday assaulted by obscure aggressors at around Green Hill Institute where she had gone to pick the P.7 result slip if her son and later rushed to Kampala International Hospital (IHK) for treatment.

Fred Enanga, the police spokesperson says that Kamasanyu was attacked by thugs who conduct random attacks on vulnerable people especially women and grab their valuables while walking or shopping.

He however says that the Magistrate is now out of danger and they have compiled a number of video footage picked from the CCTV cameras around the scene of crime and are under analysis for identification of the culprits.

Enanga has also revealed that they are aware of the criminal gangs which are behind the increased attacks on pedestrians and other people who go out for physical exercises.

He says that they have arrested some of the gang leaders who are behind the attacks on people within Kampala Metropolitan Areas.

In a related development Fred Enanga noted that they have arrested a suspect identified as Julius Mwanje for selling fake Covidex herbal drugs to people in areas of Kireka.
