The Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga has acknowledged President Museveni for correcting injustices inflicted on Indians by the late President Iddi Amini Dada in 1970s

 

More than 70,000 Indians both business, resident and professional were expelled and their property confiscated however with the coming of the NRM this mistake was corrected in 1980s that saw the return of a number of Indians who have resumed business and professional work in all fields.

 

Kadaga was giving introductory remarks to the visiting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to parliament crediting the contribution Uganda has and continues to register from the Indian nationals living in this country.

 

Meanwhile a section of MPs expressed optimist to all the promises made by Modi basing on India’s expertise in business, industry and human resource.

 

Buzaya County in Kamuli district Isaac Musumba and Busia Municipality Geoffrey Macho, hailed the visiting prime minister for the grants offered to the country calling for effective utilization of the funds by the responsible authorities.
