Traders in Kampala under their umbrella body Kampala City Traders Association (KACITA) – Uganda have threatened to petition President Museveni to make Changes in the leadership of Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) due to lack of competence in work.
While addressing journalists at KACITA headquarters in Kampala Thadeus Musoke Nagenda the body chairman revealed that UNBS is deliberately killing business due to poor operations termed as “Invasion and closure” of businesses which creates unnecessary tension, disruption and scare away potential clients.
Musoke adds that on a daily basis KACITA receives several petitions from it’s members regarding the unprofessional conduct of different government agencies such as UNBS ,URA in the field.
This has prompted them to petition every concerned authority including the president for traders to get justice.
He says KACITA is not against quality standards of products but UNBS must operate with fairness after thorough and fair investigation into any reported matter before taking action.
