The Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II has called for quick execution of court cases related to land evictions.

In his remarks while opening the 31st Buganda Parliament (Lukiiko) at Bulange Mengo on Monday afternoon Kabaka Mutebi said quite often courts of law delay cases related to land issues leading to suffering of evicted Ugandans without any reason.

Kabaka has also argued that inspite of the price fluctuation mainly for agriculture products people should remain committed to agriculture and the government make this subject compulsory for all learners at school level.

The newly appointed leaders took Oath of allegiance and service before His Majesty who implored them to serve with transparency.

The Katikkiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga vowed to ensure that Kabaka’s directives are implemented without delays.

Some of the new ministers have made their vows before the Kabaka showing commitment towards his Majesty.

His Majesty has been accompanied by the Nabagereka Sylvia Nagginda, Prince David Kintu Wasajja and Children of the Royal family among others.

Other dignities present in the Lukiiko included the former Buganda premiers, religious leaders led by the Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Kampala Msgr. Charles Kasibante, members of parliament, clan heads, heads of Buganda departments and agencies among others.
