The Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II has applauded religious leaders for spearheading blood donation campaigns.
In a statement read for him by his son Prince Crispin Jjunju during the launch of kyadondo county blood donation campaign at Bulange mengo, said in all the blood donation exercises religious leaders have played a pivotal role to mobilize donors.
He says it’s now a responsibility of every Ugandan to ensure that they engage in blood donating blood since those in need are many. He cited the increasing number of accidents that always call for blood transfusion if life is to be saved.
The blood donation campaign in kyadondo is expected to kick off on 13th – 20th January this year.
The Katikiro of Buganda Charles Peter mayiga through his first deputy Alhajji Dr.Twaha kaawaase appealed to other cultural institutions to come out and support the blood donation campaigns in their institutions so as to save a life.
