The Judiciary has deployed 96 of her newly appointed judicial officers and transferred 74 others in its efforts to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.

The 96 includes 6 Registrars, 5 Assistant registrars and 8 Magistrates grade one.

The chief justice Alfonse Owiny Dollo says that the new deployments are geared towards strengthening the capacity of the courts, to settle disputes in a timely manner and promote the rule of law.

While releasing the transfer list, Chief Registrar Sarah langa Siu stated that the transfers and deployments have been informed by the caseload and the fulfillment of the chief justice’s promise to extend judicial services closer to the people.

New courts have been opened in the districts Toroma, Ruhama, Omoro, Kyankwanzi and Amudat among others.

Langa is optimistic that with these numbers at the magisterial level the lead time for case disposal as well as case backlog in the magistrates’ court will significantly reduce.

The deployments are with the immediate effect while the transfers will start 1st September 2023.
