Government has hinted on plans to increase security operatives to strengthen security for judicial officers.

This comes after the incident where the Principal Judge Dr. Flavian Zeija allegedly faced an attempted assassination along Kampala – Masaka Highway on Saturday evening.

Muruli Mukasa, the Acting Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs while officiating at the opening ceremony of the 3 days symposium of prosecutors organized by the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) at imperial royal Hotel, said that currently the judicial officers have security but has not been so tight that’s why such incident happened.

Muruli says although the media is circulating information of gun shots but information from experts indicates it was an improvised devise that was detonated at around 7pm as the Judges convoy was around Kalandaze village, Buwama parish in Mpigi district.

He has condemned such an incident calling it a barbaric act, unlawful and cowardice promising government stand to increase security of the judicial officers.
