The Inter Religious Council of Uganda –IRCU has called for space for a national consultation on issues that have continued to hinder Ugandans from achieving their aspirations.

This is in a Christmas and End-Of-Year 2022 message delivered by IRCU Chairperson Council of Presidents Most Rev. Dr Stephen Kazimba Mugalu at the council’s secretariat in Mengo.

His Grace Kazimba, who is also the Archbishop of Church of Uganda says that among the issues that deserve serious attention and collective action include abductions, poor service delivery, corruption, confusion and tension among the youth and many more.

Sheikh Ali Waiswa, the Second Deputy Mufti of Uganda condemned the act of child kidnappings and advised those involved in such activities to find other means of looking for money instead of playing on the lives of children.

He further urges the government to hunt for people deploying children on streets for beg for money so that this act can be controlled in the country.
