The Ministry of Internal Affairs has resumed the full production of passports, releasing 2000 to 2500 passports a day.

 

In May this year, the passport office halved the production of passports to enable the system upgrade in efforts to curb forgery.

 

The Ministry’s Spokesperson Simon Peter Mundeyi says that the systems was upgraded and have also procured enough passport books ready for all the categories needed.

 

He says that they will be printing at least 2500 passports every day compared to the 15000 that have been produced previously after the system reduced its production.

 

Meanwhile, the Internal Affairs has revealed that they are conducting investigations to establish the legality of a recruitment agency AIM Global Alliance following cases of fraud, extortion and human trafficking

 

Mundeyi says that this follows an operation which was conducted last week on Aim global offices in Masaka where 408 females were rescued after they were recruited in promise of jobs which they never got
