The Ministry of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) is to recruit all the National Resistance Movement (NRM) cadres to boost public relations for the government.

This has been revealed by the State Minister of ICT Peter Ogwang while appearing before the Parliamentary ICT Committee chaired by Dokolo North MP Paul Amoru.

Ogwang said that this aims at increasing education, sensitization, informing and also change the mindset of the public about the government projects yet to be done and those completed for the good of the country.

He says the yet to be recruited cadres will be placed under the department of National guidance and information under the ICT ministry.

It’s from this that Ogwang appealed to the committee to increase the budget of the department of National Guidance that was cut from 13bn to 7.02bn shillings in the coming financial year 2021/2022.

The minister also informed the committee that they tend to cut on the cost of internet during the day in the coming financial year as a way to boost job creations.
