The Katikiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga says that their various reasons why National Resistance movement NRM was voted out in Buganda region in the just concluded presidential and parliamentary elections.

Speaking to press  immediately after casting his vote for the local government District/City Chairpersons, Lord Mayor, Mayors, and Councillors)  in Lweza Mayiga  cited out some reasons such as killings and kidnaps mostly in Buganda region ,corruption , unfulfilled promises in Buganda such as federal ,unemployment ,broken heath system ,poor roads ,land grabbing among others.

He says that those coming out with tribalism sentiments shouldn’t be even given platform because it’s cheap talk and it should be ignored.

Mayiga questioned why it’s not tribalism talk in  Ankole region where electorate voted only president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni yet the presidential race had 11 candidates, wasn’t that tribalism?

He advised NRM government to courageously come out and establish the cause of their failure and address it immediately.

In the just concluded presidential elections the National Unity Platform leader Robert Kyagulanyi a.k.a Bobi Wine (38), challenged President Yoweri Museveni Tibuhaburwa (76) and in the end he polled 3,475,298 votes representing 34.8% while Museveni of the NRM polled 5,851,037 votes that is 58.6% from a total of 10,359,479 votes cast against 18,103,603 registered voters according to results released on Saturday January 16, 2021 at Kyambogo cricket grounds by the Chairman Electoral Commission Justice Simon Mugenyi Byabakama.

However Kyagulanyi’s party swept all the Buganda Ministers ritght from the Vice President Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi which sparked off accusations by the losers that their failure was tribalistic targeting  them in Buganda, yet their ministers from other regions who did not make it through the polls.

A total of 22 ministers lost in the justice concluded elections they include;
