A section of some opposition political parties under their coalition dubbed “Holy alliance” have lashed out at the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Norbert Mao for blocking their joint at Nsambya.
Members of Holy Alliance had planned to meet at Youth Sharing Hall Nsambya in Makindye division to deliberate on their issues that drove them to form this coalition.
But, Police blocked their planned meeting after receiving a letter from the Democratic Party led by Minister Mao terming it as an illegal event organized in the name of DP Youth Organ.
Parties that had planned to meet include the Justice Forum (JEEMA), Conservative Party (CP), National Economic Empowerment Dialogue (NEED) and a pressure group known as DP Bloc.
In their brief address to the media at Nsambya Sharing hall compound, the NEED President Joseph Kabuleta said it’s absurd to see that some of their fellow opposition members are conniving with police to block their meetings.
Kabuleta tasked police to always do their research before they react on something to avoid being dragged into fake things as it has been done by Mao.
Meanwhile, Samuel Lubega Mukaaku from DP Bloc extended his message to Mao that the bloc doesn’t subscribe to DP though its members are alumni of the Uganda Young Democrats (UYD).
He explains that DP laws don’t apply to UYD alumni who seem to be confusing DP President Mao since it shares the name UYD but has nothing to do with the Union.
Mukaaku however, assured the members of other following events saying they are to clearly inform the police about to their agenda
