Government has been given 14 days within which to equip and reopen the health facility for the imprisoned Kawempe North legislator, Muhammad Ssegirinya or the beneficiaries call for a demonstration.

The facility was closed last week due to lack of funding.

While addressing journalists at Makerere on Tuesday, Muhammad Nsubuga, the Councilor representing Makerere III Parish at Kawempe Division Urban Council says that the hospital has been giving health services to over 70% of the people living in Kawempe North constituency who are said to have no option for the same services.

Nsubuga says the health facility has been helping people in simple illness such as Malaria, diarrhea and antenatal care among others and without it leaders are destined to face a bigger challenge which they can’t be silent about, that is why they are giving the government 14th to respond to the plight of the residents.

The hospital, the only Health Center III in the constituency had 4 nurses, one doctor, a clinical officer,  a laboratory technician and other casual workers.

Nsubuga has also reechoed their call for the release of their MP, Ssegirinya because he is the sole funder for the hospital.
