The Government Chief whip Thomas Tayebwa has called upon the tourism sector to work hand in hand with Uganda Airlines in promoting tourism within and outside the country.

Tayebwa says that Uganda Airlines is currently doing so well and that it should be everyone’s responsibility to ensure that the national carrier does not collapse again.

Tayebwa adds that the airline will in the near future have to consider domestic air travels so that the indigenous Ugandans also get the opportunity of enjoying the beauty of flying in the national carrier at a friendly cost.

He was speaking at the flagging off of Miss Uganda Tourism Suzan Kahunde to Puerto Rico at the office of the premier.

Susan Kahunde, a 22-year-old midwife, was in October this year crowned as the 2021/22 Miss Tourism Uganda in a scientific ceremony at Serena Hotel in Kampala.

She is to represent Uganda in Puerto Rico in the international final of Miss World 2021, which is celebrating its 70th anniversary.

The pageant will take place on December 16, 2021 at the Coca-Cola Music Hall, located at the Convention Center District in San Juan.
