Ugandans are warned of contributing factors to marriage failure which is rampant today.

Among others are; irresponsible staff interaction which leads to adultery in most big organizations including government ministries and agencies, parental negligence to the children for marriage, target relationships where most girls and boys go for relationships because of money and lack of trust.

This was said by the Chaplain for married couples in Kampala Archdiocese Rev. Fr. Herman Zziwa during the Eucharistic celebration of the Valentine’s Day at Holy Cross Family Ministries Nsambya on Saturday 17th instead of 14th since it coincided with the Ash Wednesday this year.

Fr. Zziwa said unguided use of the social media is another contributing factor to marriage failure questioning why couples parade themselves on X- formally Twitter, WhatsApp, tik-tok and others.

He advised the gathering to put God first when starting any marriage relationship, but also respect the three aspects to a good marriage, dating, courtship and commitment as well as values and morals.

The Director Holy Cross Family Ministries East Africa Office Fr. John Baptist Nsubuga hailed the married couples for respecting their union because it’s the foundation to the Catholic Church.

Married couples were smartly dressed in red and black attires to suit the day. At least the smartest couple, the couple that came early for the event and those who had lived the longest time in marriage received gifts.
