The Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has vowed to continue extending economic support towards retired army officers in the country.

He disclosed this at the Uganda Defense Forces headquarters Mbuya while retiring 150 senior officers who have served between 30 to 40 years.

He noted that they are working out on modalities through which they will be supporting them and plans are ongoing to see that retiring officers continue living a better life.

Gen Kainerugaba reminded soldiers to know that their work is a calling and a lifetime commitment with the mission to secure and have a peaceful country.

He called upon retirees to be ambassadors and informers of the army from the villages they live in but to have it in mind that they can be recalled into service once need arises.

The retirees included those at the rank of Lieutenant, Major, and Colonel among others.

Some of the retirees expressed gratitude for serving their country and vowed to continue serving their country once called upon since they are retired but not tired.
