The Deputy Chief Coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) Lt. Gen Charles Angina has blamed National Agricultural Advisory services-NAADs for the poor quality of farming inputs supplied to farmers.

Appearing before the parliamentary budgets committee on Tuesday, Gen Angina said that OWC is at the receiving end , all the procurements are done by NAADs and the blames for the poor quality inputs are put on them saying it would ideal that parliament allows them to take over the procurement process to avoid substandard or fake supplies.

Although Angina defended their operations but Mps were still concerned about thier extravagance citing the 17billion shillings that was used for facilitation and monitoring.

Mps proposed for the abolition of OWC since it has no policy frame work for its operations, much as its attached to Ministry of Agriculture, the ministry cannot monitor their operations.

Although the State Minister for Agriculture Christopher Kibazanga admitted the short fall, explaining that much as OWC is working under the office of the President, they are conducting a special audit on all agricultural agents for effective service delivery.
