Ministry of Agriculture needs over18bn to procure motorcycles for agricultural extension workers.

This has been presented by Ministry of Agriculture before the parliamentary budgets committee today ahead of the next financial year.

According to the State Minister for Agriculture, Christopher Kibazanga says this will help in the monitoring of agricultural activities.

However, he informed the committee that the ministry is still facing a short fall in the number of Agricultural extension workers which stands now at 67%.

Meanwhile, the committee has also learnt that part of the money needed to procure motorcycles in this ending financial year amounting to 2.4bn was used to buy fuel for the motorcycles that aren’t procured yet.
