A panel of 5 Constitutional Court Justices to preside over the age-limit petition hearing in Mbale has been named this morning.

The Deputy Chief Justice Alfonse Owiny -Dollo is the lead judge assisted by Justices; Remmy Kasule, Elizabeth Musoke, Kenneth Kakuru and Cheborion Barishaki.

The DCJ Dollo announced this during the second conference meeting with the concerned parties he also pronounced the changes for petition hearing from April 4th to 9th 2018.

However regarding complaints about the venue for the hearing, Dollo maintains that there is nothing unlawful or unconstitutional for the court to sit in Mbale to preside over a petition.

On Tuesday last week, court consolidated all the seven petitions challenging the age-limit law which lifts the maximum presidential age -limit cap.

The litigants that earlier included ;The Uganda Law society, 6 opposition Members of Parliament and a one Male Mabirizi among others are asking the Constitutional court to annul the age-limit law which extended the years of a person contesting for the office of the president of Uganda to above 75.
