The opposition Forum FOR Democratic Change (FDC) is intending to challenge in Courts of Law the victory for the National Resistance Movement (NRM)’s Candidates in Sheema and Nebbi Municipalities in last week’s parliamentary elections.

The party President Patrick Amuriat Oboi, while addressing journalists in Najjanankumbi today, said that elections were marred with bribery, intimidation and Malpractices which is on record.

NRM candidate, Hashim Sulaiman was declared winner of the Nebbi Municipality MP after defeating his closest rival Robert Onega of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) with 4,483 against Onega’s 4,159 votes.

In Sheema, Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation and Sheema North MP Elioda Tumwesigye defeated Forum for Democratic Change’s Virginia Plan Mugyenyi with 13,431 votes against 11,312 votes.

Amuriat was however consoled by the win at the lower positions of leadership like the mayoral and counsellorship seats in various districts and municipalities
