The in-fight amongst the top leaders of the opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party is threatened to split the party unless they seek for reconciliation.

The main party leadership headed by Patrick Amuriat Oboi which claims clean from any allegations of misconduct says that group headed by the FDC party spokesperson Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda is mislead and acts on malice and sabotage.

In a meeting held at the party headquarters in Najjanankumbi today Amuriat and his associated leaders refuted allegations of receiving UGX 7 billion and brand new cars from government.

On Monday at Sharing hall Nsambya FDC factions under the leadership of Hon Ssemujju Nganda and Erias Lukwago told the media that FDC party President Patrick Oboi Amuriat and Party secretary General Nandala Mafaabi sold the party to President Museveni.

However Amuriat said FDC is not a personal property to be handed to any person adding that it is bad for a few people to make such reckless statements at the cost of many people who have died in the struggle to make FDC strong.

Amuriat adds that people’s allegations are baseless but rather aimed as self gratification urging party members to avoid them.

Meanwhile FDC Secretary General Nandala Mafabi revealed that the group alleging that FDC leadership received money from president Museveni also receives money from government every day singling out Hon. Ssemujju as the biggest beneficiary of government money, he is a chief whip entitled to government cars but also has been benefiting from the parliamentary travel allowances alone.

He has also accused him of using huge sums of Money to get campaigning bill boards in Kira Municipality like the Lord Mayor in Kampala.

Meanwhile the former FDC Party President Rt. Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye has held a parallel press conference at his offices at Katonga Road along with those who are accusing Patrick Amuriat and his associates for attempting to sell the FDC to NRM.
