The opposition Forum for Democratic Change- FDC has this Friday endorsed, Dick Dennis Owani as their party flag bearer in the forthcoming Omoro County parliamentary by-elections.

This comes after three days when the National Unity Platform NUP fronted former FDC member Simon Tolit Akecha as its flag-bearer in the Omoro County by-election.

The Omoro County Parliamentary position fell vacant following the demise of the area MP also former Speaker of the 11th Parliament, Jacob Oulanyah.

Patrick Amuriat Obi, the party President while addressing a press conference at the FDC headquarters in Najjanankumbi along Entebbe road this Friday said that Omoro County is their political home ground where they can’t fail to have a candidate to contest for the seat and serve the district.

Amuriat further cautions the Electoral Commission –EC to avoid allowing illegal activities like vote bribery, malpractices and intimidations among others just like it was reported in the Kayunga district parliamentary by-elections.

Owani has assured the people of Omoro County and FDC victory amidst intimidations, vote bribery among others which always surface in Ugandan elections.

FDC’s candidate who also participated in the last general elections on the same seat as independent will be competing with NUP’s Tolit and the National Resistance Movement -NRM’s Andrew Ojok who is also the son to the late Oulanyah together with other expected candidates that are yet to be announced publically.
