The former Luwero district Woman Member of Parliament Brenda Nabukenya has declared her intentions of contesting for the Democratic Party (DP) Presidency in this year.

Currently, DP elections that had been planned to run from Jan 28th this year were postponed to yet a scheduled date by the party’s National Organizing Secretary Sulaiman Kidandala following his disagreement with the voters registers released by the Secretary General Gerald Siranda without his acknowledgement.

Addressing the Media at the Uganda Young Democrats Headquarters in Kampala, Nabukenya who is also the UYD leader says that her decision to contest for presidency is due to the current DP President Norbert Mao’s failure to deliver accountability.

Nabukenya also accuse Mao and the National Vice President Fred Mukasa Mbidde for aligning the party with the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) which is regarded as its enemy.
