Essential workers residing and passing through Nakawa division to access the city center for their work places will have to move between 6:30am and 9am as well as from 3:30pm to 7pm when returning home.

This is under the new revised movement guidelines released by the Nakawa Deputy Resident City Commissioner Herbert Anderson Burora during an operation against essential workers without electronic permits issued by the Ministry of Works and Transport.

Speaking to journalists at Kira road playground in Nakawa, Burora said that effective Wednesday essential workers including medical practitioners, telecom workers, bankers, private and public organizations who have clearances will be allowed on the road within the stipulated time.

Burora adds that those that will be on the roads past 9am will be stopped at check points and forced to return to their destinations except for emergencies, security, cargo trucks, medics and the media.

However, he warns all private security organizations to stop sharing their stickers to people outside the category of essential workers.
