Security agencies have dismissed claims made by the United Nations (UN) that Entebbe Expressway and Northern bypass highways are insecure for travelers due to the high number of crimes and attacks registered on them.

In their travel advisory to their staff in Uganda issued last week, the UN department on safety and security warned their staff to avoid Entebbe Expressway and the Northern bypass highways  from Busega to Namboole especially during the night starting at 10pm while in Uganda due to rampant cases of attacks on motorists.

Fred Enanga, the Police Spokesperson noted that security deployment has been intensified along Entebbe Express Highway by both the police and Private Security agencies which conduct regular patrols to safe guard travelers and motorists using these roads.

He says these days they only register accidents along that road but not robberies and attacks on motorists as it was said by the UN travel advisory.

Enanga encouraged the UN to report any case involving the attack on their staff that was attacked while using the two roads they advised their staff not to use
