The General Court Martial has finally released on bail  the remaining group of the 17  National Unity Platform supporters who made a second attempt and applied for bail in this very court.

This is after the state prosecution led by Ekyaruhanga Emmy revealing to court that they had nothing in reply to the defense team regarding it’s prayer to release them.

It’s on this note that the defense team led by Geoffrey Turyamusiima asked court to release their people since the state had nothing to say.

The released who include among others Edward Ssebuufu alias Eddie Mutwe and Bukeni Ali alias Nubian Lee were among a group of 49 NUP supporters who were arrested in Kalangala last year  in December during the presidential campaigns of Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu.

All those who have been granted bail have been bonded to 20 million each non cash and the sureties 50 million noncash each as well.

The suspects must not move beyond Kampala and Wakiso and must report to court twice a month.
