The Pope Nuncio Archbishop Luigi Bianco has led his first Public Mass at St. Mary’s Lubaga Cathedral where he has reminded Christians that the celebration of the solemnity of the resurrection of Jesus Christ gives Christians a new life.

Archbishop Bianco says Easter is not a commemoration of the past or eating but Christians get united with Christ and wants to help human to experience him in their daily life.

He says the Cross is power and no one will never experience it in life but one has to hold to Jesus for support to go through the daily trials.

The Archbishop of Kampala Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga first welcomed the Nuncio and through him thanked the Pope for the two new Bishops in Uganda the Bishop of Soroti Msgr. Olyaki Eceru and Msgr. Severus Jjumba of Masaka.

Dr. Lwanga said Easter means new life and if society was reflecting on the the message of Easter the country would not be experiencing the suffering, tortures and other forms of human suffering.

He hailed government for his her contribution to fight poverty however much is still needed because Ugandans are poor. He said respect, observance of human rights and understanding of one another is important.
