The Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr. Monica Musenero has hailed the country’s achievement in terms of science and technology as the country marks her independence.

Musenero says besides the launch of the satellite in the obit which was a study of the Ugandan students along with the government of Japan, Uganda prides in a number of other achievements from Kiira Motors Corporation.

She specifically singled out ‘Bingwa’ tricycle motor cycle the latest innovation released for supporting modern farming one of the areas government is concentrating on to build the economy and income for Ugandans.

Musenero has been speaking at the sideline of the Independence Day celebrations taking place at Kitgum Farm Institute in Kitgum district.

Musenero further struggled to provide clarity over the alleged Shs 7 billion accountability for the satellite saying Uganda’s saboteurs are concocting all the unfunded allegations.

On December 2 , 2022 Uganda launched its first satellite into orbit from the International Space Station (ISS) The PearlAfricaSat-1 spacecraft by NASA alongside Zimbabwe’s ZimSat-1, with officials saying it would help Uganda monitor weather and disasters, map its mineral wealth and generate other crucial data.

However its said little was done with the satellite as it lacked some required components to fully do its mandate. And the government was in the process to work on the second satellite to fulfill Uganda’s intentions.
