The Archbishop of Kampala Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga has decried the high levels of poverty; bad ideologies, sickness and un researched programs are affecting Uganda’s society.

He said many are running for healing or witchcraft in search for solace but end up being coned by fake prophets.

Many prophets right now are looking for riches and do all it takes to hoodwink people to give them money a habit that has diverted the principal of teaching the gospel.

Apart from that poverty has affected many even those who have thought to earn much from abroad end up exploited, many Ugandans go as house maids or security personnel have been sold for organ harvesting, others are taken as surrogate mothers or homosexuality against their will. However Uganda’s government statistics put unemployment levels at 3% a degree that would be handled if there were well planned projects to address the problem.

Dr. Lwanga also reminded the congregation of western cultures that are being promoted in Africa including sex education that is in plan by the ministry of education to start as early as Primary 3 which he said it intended to cause early marriages that in turn will lead to an automatic legalisation of abortion which for long has been advocated for by a group of those supported by foreign agencies but it remains illegal in Uganda’s constitution.

He was addressing parishioners of the newly commissioned parish of St. Gonzaga Gonza Kamuli in Wakiso district that has become the 69th parish in Kampala Archdiocese and was curved from Bweyogerere Parish that is run by the Consolata missionary fathers, Namugongo and Kiwatule Parishes.

Dr.Lwanga also challenged government intelligence personnel to tell the truth to help leaders address people’s problems.
