The Democratic Party- DP has summoned the Buikwe South Member of Parliament Dr Michael Lulume Bayiga and 12 other members to the disciplinary committee for attempting to disorganize the party.

 

This follows reports that Bayiga was yesterday appointed to lead a committee of 13 members to review the leadership of DP after the party president Norbert Mao signed a working cooperation agreement with the National Resistance Movement –NRM Chairman Yoweri Museveni without their knowledge.

 

Mao was later appointed the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, a position he accepted but refused to hand over the leadership of DP.

 

Now, the DP Spokesperson Opio Okoler has told the journalists today at City House in Kampala that the committee members will face the party’s National Executive Committee –NEC on 25th of August, 2022 for indiscipline and violating the party constitution by appointing themselves.

 

Other members on the committee include the Bukoto Central MP Richard Ssebamala, DP Legal Adviser Luyimbaazi Nalukoola and Mary Babirye Kabanda who was appointed as the treasure, Alitiya Ella the DP Vice President Northern among others.
