The Chief Justice also a son from northern Uganda Alfonse Owiny Dollo has rallied people from their entire northern region block to prioritize income at hand if they are to transform their livelihood.

Speaking during a council sitting to pay tribute to the late Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah at the Omoro District Counsel hall last evening said that northern Uganda was deprived of the right since the colonial time to earn big like other regions.

He says the northern region was given Cotton and sunflower as cash crops whose income is nothing compared to Coffee, bananas in the southern part of Uganda that still fetches high income.

Owiny Dollo said due to poverty the northern region gets fewer numbers if not none of the students who go for high priority courses at Makererere because even their traditional schools like Sir Samuel Baker, St. Joseph’s College Ombaci among others have all gone to the dogs.

Dollo says it’s high time the Acholi’s, Langis, Arulu’s and Karamajongs united and demanded for social transformation than ever thinking of begging from the state house. And it’s the leaders to spearhead such.

He has challenged local leaders to pass ordinances that can protect the population from harmful products like alcohol that is destroying the youth.

The business of taking their people to work as shamba boys, private security personnel or gate keepers should stop.
