The Bishop of Arua Diocese  Rt. Rev. Sabino Ocan Odoki has challenged Christians to embrace Prayer life to strengthen their moral life to fight sin and diversionary behaviours from the western world.

 

presided over the holy Eucharistic cerebrations to mark 144 years since the first Eucharist was celebrated in Uganda at Mapeera Nabulagala parish Bishop Sabino  said Christians face  alot of challenges among others Homosexuality, which is fronted by the western world to the extent of withdrawing financial support to Uganda due to the passed Anti-Homosexuality law 2023.

 

Other challenges are poverty and family breakups and its because many have replaced God or prayer life with worldly desires, greed and complacence.

 

He says the Catholic Church prides in the Holy Sacraments which empower the faithful to withstand all the challenges the holy Eucharist, holy matrimony, and baptism not sideling continuous catechesis.

 

Bishop Sabino urged Christians to respect one another, especially parents to support their families through Christ.

 

Bishop Sabino thanked Kabaka Muteesa I of Buganda who allowed missionaries to bring Christianity Uganda.

 

On the issue of environment Bishop Sabino said it’s upon each Ugandan to care and protect the environment because harsh Climate experienced now days leading to low farm production, drought, floods, emergency of diseases and pests can be overcome if people changed their mindset and protected the mother earth.

 

The day to remember the celebration of the first holy Eucharist in Uganda is marked every 25th of June at St. John Baptist Nabulagala Catholic Parish in the Archdiocese of Kampala, and today 349 children received first Holy Communion.
