Today Sunday 23rd October 2022 the Catholic Church world over has celebrated the world mission Sunday a day dedicated by the Pope to renew the commitment to the missionary work or evangelization of the Gospel.

The day is celebrated at each and every parish, school and community coordinated by the Pontifical Mission Societies office, also known as Missio in each particular country.

The theme for this year has been, ‘You shall be my witnesses’ – Acts 1:8

Leading the Eucharistic celebration to mark the day at St. Peter’s parish Nsambya the Parish priest Fr. Joseph Ssemanda Balikudembe acknowledged the priests, religious and lay faithful who have worked tirelessly to support missionary work and challenged the congregation the evangelization is for each Catholic.

A special financial collection was made as it’s required to support the evangelization mission. The money is sent to Rome where the Pope allocates it again to support the church world over depending on the need of a particular church.

On the same day St. Peters Nsambya Parish has celebrated the family day with 9 couples receiving the sacrament of holy matrimony and Fr. Ssemanda said evangelization and missionary work must be support right at the family level.
